The human skeleton consist of more than 200 bones. A baby has 270 and an adult some 206 bones. Those are supplemented by cartilages, tendons and ligaments.

Its very big for the body, in an adult it comprises 13% of the total body weight, but this is because its function. It is protectting organs.


The smallest bone in the body is in the middle ear, it's the stape; and the biggest bone is the femur.
